Information

Welcome to our Adoptable Animals page! Here, you’ll find the dogs and cats currently in our care who are seeking loving, forever homes. Each one has their own story—some were rescued from neglect, while others were rescued from the streets or emergency situations—but all are now safe and thriving, thanks to compassionate people like you.

We believe every animal deserves a second chance, and we’re committed to matching them with families who will provide the love, patience, and lifelong care they need.

Please take a look below to meet our adoptables. If someone special catches your eye, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’d love to help you find your perfect companion.

Adopt love. Save a life. Make a difference.

Meet BenjiSome of you may remember this sweet pup from a Lost and Found post here on Facebook. After no one came forward to claim him during the stray hold, we welcomed him into our care and showered him with love—and the transformation has been incredible! Benji is now a cheerful, playful German Shepherd mix. If you're interested in giving Benji his forever home, please send us a message directly.

๐Ÿ’ซHappy Holidays from Pablo! We pulled this sweet boy from the Fresno Animal Center Euthanasia list due to him having a grade 2 heart murmur. The Vet says that he is not in critical condition and the murmur is manageable so it doesn't affect him at this time.

Pablo is a very sweet and chill dog. He is 4 years old and gets along great with other animals. It's probably best that his fur siblings be older and out of the puppy stage due to his heart condition. He would love to have a new family for the new year, and an adopter that understands his needs and can afford his lifestyle.

If you're interested in adopting Pablo, please complete an adoption application! Merry Christmas ๐ŸŽ

Meet 'Bebe' – the newest member of our rescue family!

Bebe’s journey began when a kind-hearted Samaritan found her and shared her story on the Nextdoor App. Despite waiting patiently for her owner to come forward, no one claimed her. That’s when we stepped in to give her the care and love she deserves. Bebe is an affectionate, attention-loving pup. While we suspect she might be a Dachshund mix.

Meet Chester!

Chester’s story began when our dedicated local networker, spotted him wandering alone in her neighborhood and stepped in to help. This sweet little guy has a gentle nature and is comfortable with kind handling. Estimated to be around 3 months old, Chester is already neutered and vaccinated, ready to start his journey toward a loving home.

Having grown up feral, he’s still learning proper litter box habits, but we’re confident he’ll catch on quickly. Chester will soon have his first wellness check at the vet, get microchipped, and then he’ll be all set for his forever home!

If you’re interested in adopting Chester, we’d love to hear from you! Please message us directly to request an adoption application.

Meet Victor, our newest addition to the Rescue family! ๐Ÿ’ซ

Victor is an adorable Chihuahua/Poodle/Terrier mix, approximately 2 years old, and weighing in at just 10 lbs. This little guy is on a mission to find his perfect forever home.

Victor’s journey hasn’t been easy. He spent a long time roaming the streets of Stockton until a kind-hearted family took him in. They searched tirelessly for a rescue group to help Victor, and that’s where we came in. He’s been with us for about a month as we worked on getting him prepared for adoption. When Victor first arrived, he was timid and reactive, which his rescuers explained was how he had initially behaved with them too. But with time and patience, Victor began to trust them and became much easier to handle.

We are looking for a home where Victor will be given the time and space to decompress. His ideal family will be patient, understanding, and willing to help him adjust to his new surroundings. It’s crucial to give him those first few weeks to settle in and feel secure. Based on his behavior, we suspect Victor may have experienced abuse in the past, which explains why he’s initially hand-shy. However, with love and care, he’s already shown incredible progress.

Once Victor starts to feel safe, his true personality shines. He’s a sweet, loving, and playful pup who enjoys being touched, bathed, hugged, and kissed. A wonderful bonus? Victor has an instant connection with children! While he was hesitant with his adult foster at first, he immediately bonded with her daughter, showing his natural affection for kids.

If you’re ready to offer Victor the loving home he deserves, please fill out the Adoption Inquiry form located at the top of our Rescue page. Let’s give Victor the happy ending he’s been waiting for. ๐Ÿฅณ

BONDED SENIOR PAIR ALERT ๐Ÿ’ซ

Meet Pops and Carmella, a heartwarming father-daughter duo who have just joined our rescue family. At 10 and 9 years old, respectively, these senior Pomchis were surrendered by their previous owners, who were unable to dedicate the time and care they deserved. Having spent their entire lives together, these two are deeply bonded, and we are committed to keeping them together—no exceptions.

Pops and Carmella are tiny but mighty! Pops weighs in at just 4 lbs, while Carmella is a petite 7 lbs. Their connection is truly special—Carmella always looks to Pops for guidance and only ventures where he leads, trusting him completely. They are both in good health, full of life, and ready to bring endless love to their forever home. We are seeking adopters who can commit to giving them a stable, loving environment for the rest of their lives, until they cross the rainbow bridge ๐ŸŒˆ.

If you feel ready to welcome this inseparable pair into your heart and home, please complete our Adoption Inquiry form. We will be very selective to ensure the perfect match for these two sweet souls.

Meet Maya, the newest addition to our rescue family! Maya is a sweet and spirited 4-year-old Pug who has spent much of her life outdoors. We’re searching for a loving forever home that will welcome her as part of the family, providing her with the safety, care, and affection she deserves.

Maya has a gentle temperament and gets along wonderfully with other animals. She’s full of energy for playtime with your children but also settles down easily when it’s time to rest. Maya will come spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped to ensure she’s ready for her new home.

If you’re interested in giving Maya the loving home she’s been waiting for, please complete the adoption inquiry form available at the top of our rescue page. She’s ready to bring joy and love to her new family—could that be yours?

Mama Chloe

Who will be the lucky one to give this beautiful Torti/Calico girl her forever home? Mama Chloe is a true survivor—she gave birth to five healthy kittens while living astray. Thankfully, she was kept safe until Rescue could step in. While we don’t know much about her past, one thing is clear: she has the sweetest, most docile personality for a cat who’s been through so much.

She’s incredibly gentle—no hissing, easy to handle, and she even enjoys cuddles! Mama Chloe has also proven to be a social butterfly, getting along wonderfully with the other animals in her foster home. While she still needs a little vetting, we’ll have an estimated age and additional details after her well-check. In the meantime, she’s ready to start accepting applications from those who want to give her the loving home she deserves.

Let’s not forget about the Mamas when considering adoption. Kittens are always adorable, but these loving mothers deserve just as much love and a chance at happiness.

If you’d like to apply for Mama Chloe, please complete an adoption inquiry form available at the top of the Rescue page.

Meet Brandon!

Brandon is an adorable, fluffy, long-haired Jack Russell and Chihuahua mix who’s ready to find his forever home! This lovable little guy has started his vaccine series and will be neutered and microchipped before joining his new family.

He came to us with his sister, Brenda, after being surrendered by the owners of their parents, who have chosen to keep the parents and already have spay and neuter surgeries scheduled for them. Now, Brandon is looking for a warm, loving, and active home where he can thrive. Could that be with you?

Meet the Ice Cream Litter!

Say hello to these adorable 9-week-old puppies! They are Chihuahua/Terrier mixes and will remain small in size, making them perfect for cozy companionship. This sweet litter includes two girls and three boys: Peaches and Cream are the girls, while Vanilla, Neapolitan, and Chocolate are the boys.

This precious group came to us from a loving but overwhelmed family who realized they had too many animals. The family is keeping the parents and has partnered with us to ensure they are spayed and neutered, while we help find responsible, loving homes for the pups. Their efforts to do what’s best for the puppies deserve a round of applause!

The puppies have started their vaccination and deworming series and will also be microchipped. If you’d like to welcome one of these little ones into your family, you can apply by completing the adoption inquiry form linked in the comment section of this post. Be sure to join us at their meet-and-greet events—we can’t wait to see you there!

Meet Leo

Leo is the sweetest little Chihuahua you’ll ever meet. Just over a year old, he’s a petite 8-pound bundle of love who’s fully potty trained, crate trained, and socialized with other animals. And here’s the best part—he’s quiet! Yes, quiet, which is rare (and amazing) for a Chihuahua. Leo has been patiently waiting for his forever home, and he absolutely adores spending time with his person.

Leo originally came to us with his Toy Poodle sister. While we initially planned to keep them together as a bonded pair, we quickly realized they’re perfectly happy and well-adjusted on their own. Their previous owners sadly had to surrender them due to unforeseen hardships, but it was through no fault of Leo or his sister. Now, Leo is ready to start a new chapter with a loving family who will cherish him forever.

Samantha  Meet Samantha, an adorable kitten still waiting to find her forever home. As the last of a litter of seven, this sweet girl will steal your heart. At just 9 weeks old and a petite 2 pounds, Samantha is thriving on a mix of dry and wet kitten food, is fully litter box trained, and has been lovingly socialized with both dogs and other cats. While she's still too young and small for spaying, she's all set to join a loving Foster-to-Adopt home. Could that be with you?

๐Ÿ’ซMama Trixie's litter will be 9 weeks old this Monday 12/15 and is accepting applications!

We took this Mama in after she was secured by a good Samaritan when they found her on the streets of Stockton pregnant and near birth. Trixie is extremely loving and energetic. She wasted no time getting comfortable in her Foster home and gave birth shortly after she arrived. We don't know what breed she is, as she was a stray and there's no telling who the father is, although there were reportedly several suspects of smaller breeds. Mama weighs about 15lbs and we expect the babies to be about that size or even smaller at maturity. They're all very petite and some share Mama's same aloof personality.

If you're interested in giving one of these babies a forever home, please fill out an adoption inquiry form.  Mama is also accepting applications, although she won't be ready to go home until she has been cleared to be spayed.

UPDATE!!:

๐ŸกSunshine has been returned to the rescue due to no fault of her own. This fun-loving girl is once again ready to find her forever home. If you have applied for her in the past, now is your chance to have her again. Sunshine loves cuddles and lounging with her person. This girl doesn't do well on walks when encountering other animals, so we suggest that her next family have a nice yard for her to get her exercise. She does well with the other animals in her Foster home, but she is leash reactive.๐Ÿก

๐Ÿ’ซ Please welcome SUNSHINE to the Rescue. We had this girl flown in from Fresno Humane and we asked you what we should name her. One of you said 'Sunshine' and we thought that fit her personality perfectly.

Sunshine was a stray roaming the streets of Fresno and a Good Samaritan turned her into the Shelter. They estimated her to be a 3 year old Maltese mix (possibly with Terrier) and very friendly. Sunshine is the sweetest girl who loves attention and enjoys being petted and lounging around with her Foster. She gets along great with her foster siblings, dogs and cats alike. Her ideal home would be one where she could receive all the attention and maybe have one or two older fur brothers and sisters. Although she loves the puppies, this girl gets tired from rough play quickly and prefers to sit around and look cute ๐Ÿฅฐ .

If you are interested in adopting 'Sunshine', please complete an adoption inquiry form located at the top of this page.

๐Ÿ’ซGood evening. Meet Coco Melon! ๐Ÿˆ

This lovely Shitzhu mix boy (who came here with that name, yes ๐Ÿ˜…) is accepting applications. Coco (Melon) has a story, like all the animals in our Rescue, and his just happens to highlight the animal advocacy of a very special family and their business, Plush Puppy Dog Grooming. This beautiful, boy was surrendered to his Groomers when his family could no longer care for him. Thankfully this wonderful group of people have a huge heart for animals and knew to look for Rescue to get him placed in the best possible home. Thanks to the combined efforts of Heart of Galt Rescue, Plush Puppy Dog Grooming in Galt, and CAVA Animal Sanctuary, Coco Melon is sure to find his perfect match.

About Coco:

He is 5 years old, very calm in nature, crate and potty trained, and gets along great with other dogs as well as cats. He is a love bug. He loves affection and being near his 'person'. As you can see by his pictures and video, he also loves his treats. Coco is around 15lbs and has a very long body, which makes us believe he may be mixed with some Daschund or even maybe some Japanese Chin. One thing is for sure - he is 100% adorable and that's really that matters.

Coco's Groomers would like to continue services after he is adopted. They have been grooming him for years and have come to love him. He still needs some vetting, but we are accepting applications for him now.

๐Ÿ’ซMeet Jake. He is looking for a good home! Here's what his current Foster had to say about him:

'Hi My name is Jake, I am a 5 year old Jack Russel mix. I weigh about 45lbs. I currently live with my “Aunt” as a foster pup because my family moved to Florida and could not take me. I love to be outside, I love going on walks, especially hiking. My aunt has a ranch with horses and cows, I get along with them just fine and she takes me out with her on trail rides all the time. I am house trained, and kennel trained I get along with all other dogs and I used to have a little sister who was a cat. My only issue is I have allergies. But my Aunt has had me tested and found food I can eat with no issues. She can provide all information to whoever decides to take me home. I am the sweetest boy I love to cuddle, and I listen well. I just need to find my furever home.'

๐Ÿพ Meet the very lovely LULY! ๐Ÿพ

This sweet, playful Maltese girl is now accepting applications ๐Ÿ’• Luly is wonderful with other animals, super friendly with strangers, and we think she would be an absolute joy for children.

She’s about 1.5 years old and has the most bubbly, happy personality. One of her favorite things to do is stand and walk on her hind legs just to get your attention—she truly loves being with her people!

Luly would make a fantastic companion and bring so much love and fun into her future home.
